Last weekend was the Mid Autumn Festival. It was full of lights and Mooncakes and for us consisted of a nice walk by the Crescent Mall, the river and Starlight Bridge. There were soooo many people everywhere. The traffic getting there was CRAZY!
Lights and lanterns every everywhere.
So pretty.
Lanterns for the kids. Light-up fish that play the traditional music of the festival and they move and roll around.
The Starlight Bridge
Veronika got a more traditional lantern from a lady on the street. It is lit up with a candle.
Evening snack - we had to taste. Bahn trang nuong da lat. It's kind of a Vietnamese pizza...and what's it made of you ask? Here are the ingredients:
Rice paper
When put together and grilled over an open fire in the street. ..it's mouth watering. ..seriously.
Dried small shrimps
Saute/Chili paste
Quail eggs/chicken eggs
Spring onion
Fried ground pork
Cheese (optional).
Sunday, we went to Vivo City - a mall in D7. We were meeting friends and taking the kids to the cinema. We arrived a little early and had time to participate in some of the festivities happening.
After the arts and crafts, the kids went to see Transylvania 2 - the movie theater experience was pretty much the same as in North America except the tickets were about 1/2 price.
They went to the theater with friends and Stepan and I took the two hours to explore the mall, hit up the Japnese dollar store, go grocery shopping and have some Taiwanese treats.
